The Thankful Tree

Sometime in the early 90’s it started, but I don’t remember how.

Simple. A branch, construction paper, string.

It’s presence throughout November gives Thanksgiving the space it deserves - although some are thankful for the upcoming season.

It starts bare, and by the time Thanksgiving comes is covered with leaves of gratitude.

Some leaves have toddler scribbles on them, and some leaves profound heartfelt expressions.

We have amassed quite a collection of gratitude over the years. (I see someone was thankful for flan)

10/10. Highly recommend this tradition.

Why is the shoe on the piano?  Hint on one of the previous leaves.

What are your Thanksgiving traditions?
